The SLC Tri Challenge

It all started with the death of our dear friend and collegue, Wik van der Walt at a mountain bike race in 2012. We were looking for a suitable way to remember Wik, and the obvious answer soon came to us - and offroad triathlon, and so The 'Wik" was born in 2013.

Soon after the success of our first Wik race, the organising committee was approached by Rudi Viljoen from Rotary Tzaneen about also hosting the 15 year old Magoebaskloof MTB Classic, which was then also moved to SLC in 2013.

given the magnificent natural surroundings in which we live and work, there was then only one natural progression - a stage trail race, the Wolkberg Trail Run.

The three events now make up the SLC Tri Challenge

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To provide outdoor sports enthusiasts with quality, affordable yet professionally organised outdoor sports events, as well as to increase participation in the sports of triathlon, trail running and mountain biking within Limpopo and South Africa, especially amongst young people, thereby promoting a healthy lifestyle.

To give back to our local comunities through raising funds for Charities, with the help of local Rotary Clubs.
